TANZANIA:KUJI JOINS AIDS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
|
STAYING HEALTHY STAYING ALIVEThe best way to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS is to CHANGE OUR BEHAVIOR! |
KUJI & U.A.A.C.C FIND WAYS TO REACH THE YOUTH TOGETHER |

| Tanzania is now
leading all of East Africa in the number of people infected with the
HIV/AIDS virus. It is estimated that 3 million people are living with
HIV/AIDS in Tanzania. In the Arumeru Disrtrict, where KUJI is now
working, there have been nearly 2000 reported cases of HIV/AIDS in the past
9months and the numbers continue to rise. It is NOT ENOUGH to just tell people to use condoms. That is not working. So what can be done? How do you reach young people who know the consequences of the disease and who know how to prevent it, yet, the number of victims continues to grow? When prevention is not enough we must go on the attack! We need to get serious but we also want to have fun doing it! Kuji incorporates a hands on approach to reaching our youth. Engaging forums, festivals, workshops, and events geared toward the youth as vital members of a concerned community. This is a FIGHT for our very lives, for our future. A great change must take place. A change in behavior. This is the only way we will win this war on HIV/AIDS. We must work to CHANGE OUR BEHAVIOR and TO WIN!

Kuji Donates Digital Projector to UAACC AIDS awareness outreach program. |
The outreach counselors can now film their workshops and reach more people. With the new projector the workshops can be viewed by larger groups indoors or outdoors. Educational films and plays are an integral part of the outreach program. Jungu Kuu, a short film edited by Kuji's Program Manager, Joju Cleaver, is now a part of the outreach program. |
